Aligning with Global AI Regulations is one of six short AI courses I bought from ISC2 in May 2026, and at $64 it is the bundle’s wide-angle regulatory survey. Where The Evolving Cybersecurity Workforce touches the legal landscape lightly, this one walks across it: a stack of ISO standards (the 27000 information-security series including 27701 on privacy, 20000 on IT service management, and 42001 on AI management, alongside others in the ISO/AI family), NIST’s Cybersecurity Framework and AI Risk Management Framework, FedRAMP, the ENISA directives for AI cybersecurity, and the EU AI Act. Covering that many documents in a short course means none get treated exhaustively – which is the right trade for a survey, and the course is upfront about it.

What It Covers

The inventory is broad. On the ISO side, the course works through standards spanning software development, IT service management (20000), information security (the 27000 series, including 27701 on privacy), and AI specifically – ISO 42001 on AI management systems and several other ISO/AI standards in the family. On the US side, it covers the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, and FedRAMP. On the European side, the ENISA directives for AI cybersecurity and the EU AI Act. Alongside the documents themselves, the course pulls out the broad principles of AI development that recur across most of them.

The trade-off is deliberate: name every document you need to know exists, rather than master any single one. Do not view it as an instruction manual for what to do. View it as a map of where you will need to look for the details when you actually have to act – and as a useful distillation of the principles that recur across most of these documents.

Verdict

Four stars, and earned by the design choice. There is no substitute for reading these standards and laws in full – there just isn’t – and a short course pretending otherwise would be useless. What this course does instead is name every document you need to know exists, give enough depth on each to make it comprehensible, and pull out the common themes that recur across them. That is the right trade. For regulation, knowing which laws and standards apply matters more than mastering any single one; the ones you end up needing to comply with you will read in extreme detail anyway. The shelf life is short, the $64 is fair, and as an annotated reading list with the shared principles extracted, it works.
